Bum Bags have made their return to the fashion world. Some of our favorite fashion lovers have been rocking the bumbag meaning that this trend is getting pretty serious. When you think of the bum bag you may flashback to the early 90’s when we paired this waist bag with our favorite colorful and vibrant outfit, or with an aerobic style gym look. The Bum Bag or better known as the fanny pack of today is much more chic than what we are use to seeing from the past.

But before we can talk about this reinvented trend let us start from the beginning. The Bum Bag is a small fabric pouch with a front facing zipper, that is worn by use of a strap around the hips or waist. Also known as the “fanny pack “ the name derives from how they are often worn with the pouch above the butt or “fanny.”
Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and look at the evolution of the bum bag. In 1962, the bum bag was created by an Australian designer, Melba Stone. Even though this accessory was created in the 60’s, this trend really became popular in the 90’s. Initially, dancers attending raves made these bags popular so that the could be hands free while dancing.

Shortly after dancers adapted this look, the bum bag became a staple for some of our favorite wrestling stars. They may not be known for the best fashion sense, but they definitely had an impact with making this accessory a style staple.

This isn’t the first time we have seen this bag reappear. If you’re a big fan of the hit series, Sex and the City, like us, then you had to notice Carrie Bradshaw donning the Gucci bum bag. Fast forward to the present day where we see the hottest celebrities wearing this accessory with a fresh new twist.

The bum bags range in size, and are now worn different ways. Some wear the bags as belts, across the chest, and even as a holster. It doesn’t matter how this bag is worn, this bag is here to stay. Even if this trend fades away, we know we will see it once again in the future.

The BET Awards 2017 took place last night in Los Angeles California, and we are living for all of the melanin magic and red carpet. We love these events because not only can we look forward to seeing some of our favorites from artists perform, we get to see the latest fashion on our favorite celebrities.
Not only did the stars bring the heat on the stage, they also brought the heat to the red carpet. We love when we see celebrities slay at events.
Best Dressed
When we talk about slaying, this reality star/ rapper definitely is on the glow up. Cardi B is red hot in this Givenchy suit! She looks so chic in this Pre‐Fall 2017 look, and we just love this platinum bob.
Our favorite “Awkward Black Girl” Issa Raye showed us last night she isn’t Insecure. She sizzled in Balmain Spring 2017. The colors look great on her skin.
Styled by Andrew Gelwicks, Lovie Simone sparkled in this gorgeous Elisabetta Franchi gown. She is definitely working that dress on the red carpet.
We have to mention how Lil Mama is looking very gorge in this Steven Khalil gown. EGL fashion has noticed her transition into a fashionista lately with her new style.
Letoya Luckett came to the awards ready to shut it down. We loved how she went floral with this flowy maxi with a high slit. Showing a little leg doesn’t hurt anybody.
Speaking of high splits. Check out Mrs. Smith in this Alexadre Vauthier Alta‐ Costura dress. She shined on the red carpet and shows us we can be sexy at any age.
Lets not forget about the men. They also take fashion serious at these events. Demetrius Shipp Jr. and Big Sean went for maroon colored looks. One of our favorite Queen Sugar actors, Kofi Siriboe, stepped outside of the box with this printed black and white suit.
Worst Dressed
Not everyone hits the mark at awards shows. Unfortunately these few looks didn’t make the cut.
Demetria Mckinney wore this black dress that just doesn’t do much for her. This is a situation where bad outfits are own good looking people.
Blac Chyna also opted for a black look. We are not sure what look she is going for last night , but we have seen her dressed better.
We love the Blonds designers, but this look on Justine Sky isn’t our favorite look from her.
Which look was your favorite from the red carpet? Did any of your best or worst dressed looks make our list? Let us know below.

“WE’VE ALWAYS MADE ARCHITECTURE A VERY INTEGRAL PART OF OUR STORY. JAPAN IS A DESTINATION THAT EVERYBODY THINKS THEY KNOW, BUT THEY ALL KNOW TOKYO.” ~MICHAEL BURKE CHAIRMAN AND CEO OF LOUIS VUITTON
The fashion house’s designer, Nicolas Ghesquière, is a big fan of Japanese culture, which was showcased in the brand’s runway designs. For this collection Ghesquière collaborated with Japanese designer, Kansai Yamamoto. The Japanese designer is best known for dressing stars like David Bowie.

Who said curvy girls don’t have many options? Like HELL they don’t! Curvy women have just as many options as smaller-sized women. The key to styling your curves is to make sure to accentuate your best assets and to select pieces that won’t make your silhouette look bulky.
The first concept to keep in mind when styling your curves is to understand your shape and size. The second concept is to identify a few styles that work for you and then rock them like there’s no tomorrow! Once you have successfully accomplished those two rules, your options are unlimited.
Undergarments
Once you have successfully established your size and shape, the first thing a woman should do is invest it proper and well-fitting undergarments. Not only will you feel more comfortable, but your clothes will also fit better. Why? Because, you will have the additional support that you need!
V-Necks
V-neck tops look especially great on curvy women. They’re the perfect neckline when you want your body to look thinner, and longer. V-necks elongate your look and draw the eye downwards. If you have a fuller bust area, choose v-necks that stop right above your cleavage to achieve a leaner, meaner form.
Wrap it Up!
Wrap dresses are a good choice for all sizes but, they are even greater fits for the curvy girl. They enhance your body by giving it the hourglass shape that perfectly conceals all flaws and really gives you that cinched and ultra-sexy look. If dresses aren’t your thing, you may want to opt for a wrap blouse. Whether long sleeved, 3/4, or sleeveless, the wrap blouse is perfect for work or play and will also accentuate your best curves without complication!
Thigh-High and Knee-High Boots
Thigh-high boots or knee-high boots can also be a curvy girl’s best friend. Adding a high boot to an outfit will elongate the legs. Not only will this give you a more statuesque frame, it will draw attention to your lower limbs. During colder months, throw on your favorite knee-high or thigh-high boot with a fun and flirty dress and edgy leather jacket. Now, off you go!
Belt it Out!
Ever thought about incorporating a belt into your look to accentuate those curves?
Adding a belt to an outfit containing a curvier frame will narrow the waist and give the appearance of an hourglass silhouette. The next time you consider putting on your favorite dress, try experimenting with your look by adding a belt. You might be surprised by how much you can bring in that waistline.
Accessorize! Accessorize! Accessorize!
Lastly, accessorizing your outfit is essential for all women! Add a great pair of shades or a chunky statement necklace to your look to pull everything together. A woman should always add at least one accessory to an outfit to complete her look. This is a universal rule that holds true for every woman, not just the curvaceous ones.
